Digital Impressions

Digital impressions use a small handheld scanner to build an accurate 3D model of your teeth, replacing trays of impression putty. At Sam’s Smile Dental in Humble, they make records for crowns, aligners and guards quicker and more comfortable.

How It Works

  • A small wand — is moved over your teeth while it captures images.
  • A 3D model — appears on screen as the scan goes, and we can check it right away.
  • Digital delivery — the model can be sent to the lab without shipping a physical mold.

Why Patients Like It

There is no goopy material and less gagging, and a missed spot can simply be rescanned. Digital impressions are used for crowns, bridges, Invisalign aligners, night guards and more. Ask us whether your next treatment can use one.
