Computer-Guided Implant Placement
Computer-Guided Implant Placement
With computer-guided implant placement, 3D scans are used to plan each implant’s position in advance, and a custom guide helps place it where it was planned. At Sam’s Smile Dental in Humble, it is part of how we plan implant care.
How It Works
- 3D imaging — a cone beam scan shows the jawbone, nerves and sinuses in three dimensions.
- Digital planning — the implant’s depth, angle and position are planned on screen before treatment.
- A custom guide — a guide made from that plan fits over your teeth or gums and directs placement.
Why It Matters
Planning ahead helps place an implant in the bone where it has the best support and where the final tooth will look and work well. It can also make the visit more predictable. If you are considering dental implants, ask our team how guided placement fits into your plan.
