Dentures
Dentures
Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. They can restore the ability to chew and speak comfortably, and they can fill out the look of your smile. People often look into dentures after losing teeth to decay, gum disease, or injury.
Common Types of Dentures
- Complete dentures — replace all of the teeth in the upper jaw, the lower jaw, or both.
- Partial dentures — fill the gaps when some natural teeth remain, helping keep the remaining teeth from shifting.
- Implant-supported dentures — attach to dental implants instead of resting only on the gums, which can add stability. Sam’s Smile Dental lists implant supported dentures as its own service.
When to Consider Dentures
You might ask about dentures if you have several missing or failing teeth, difficulty chewing, or an existing denture that no longer fits well. Gums and jaw shape change over time, so a denture that once felt secure may need adjusting or replacing.
