Dental X-Rays
Dental X-Rays
Dental x-rays let us see what an exam alone cannot: decay between teeth, problems below the gumline and the health of the bone that supports your teeth. At Sam's Smile Dental in Humble, we take x-rays when they help us understand what is going on and plan your care.
What X-Rays Show
- Hidden decay — cavities between teeth or under existing fillings.
- Bone levels — changes that can come with gum disease.
- Roots and infections — problems at the tip of a root or an abscess.
- Developing teeth — including wisdom teeth and teeth that have not come in.
Safety and Comfort
Digital x-rays use a low dose of radiation, and images appear on screen right away so we can review them with you. How often you need them depends on your age, risk of decay and dental history. If you have questions about x-rays, our team is glad to explain why and when we recommend them.
